Since we first opened the doors to The Roxbury Motel in 2004, the consistent message we have learned from our guests – and from following our own passions – is that there is no such thing as too over-the-top. The goal is to shy away from the typical modern hotel minimalism into a sort of maximalism, throwing the usual boutique clichés out the window. As long as cleanliness and comfort are never neglected and there is always a nod to elegance and quality, we have learned that, like us, most people are hungry for something different. Something unique. Something not taupe.

We have expanded four times over the years and with each expansion – our most recent being The Roxbury at Stratton Falls – we have tried to push the boundaries of wow-factor to new levels of detail, new levels of conceptualization, and new levels of new levels of new levels. That’s not to say, however, that some of our more “basic” rooms are less fun or lacking in detail compared to some of the more stylized rooms. Au contraire. They still have the same goal in mind – to make you smile when you open the door for the first time.

In this section of our website we invite you to explore the rooms of our first baby – The Roxbury Motel.  Starting with our smallest rooms at the lowest rate and climbing to our largest suite at the highest rate, the rooms come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and configurations with theme concepts mostly inspired by the TV shows and films of the 1960’s and 1970’s. And no matter what rate or room theme you choose – all rooms honor the boutique hotel convention that really matters the most – lots of fun freebies! Complimentary cold breakfast, top shelf bath products, fluffy towels, supersoft sheets, modern room technology, and a host of other fun room amenity surprises await your enjoyment beyond every door!

Studios

Starting at $114
If you don’t need a lot of space, then our two studio rooms are perfect for surrounding yourself in fun luxury. One guest said, “it was so cozy I felt like I was back in the womb…”

Another said, “I had such a good night’s sleep that I woke up and decided I’d save thousands on that facelift and just buy one of your mattresses!” One of our studios adjoins into one of our two-bed classic contemporaries to fit a group of 4-6. Both studio rooms have a queen-size bed.

Our two studio rooms don’t have a separate kitchenette area, but they still have microwaves, fridges and coffee machines to give you that “pied-a-terre away from home” feeling.

All rooms at The Roxbury have free streaming Netflix, free Wireless, DVD players with access to our 400+ title film collection, fridges, microwaves, coffee machines, A/C, fluffy towels, supersoft sheets, luxury bathroom amenities, and some other fun room amenity surprises. Oh…and did we mention breakfast? We serve an extensive cold breakfast (included in your room rate) from 8:00-11:00am daily.

Classic Contemporary

Starting at $173
We feel that our Classic Contemporary rooms are the perfect hotel room size. Just enough space for a family to not feel too crowded or just enough space for a couple to REALLY relax and let go.

Deriving its name from our tagline “Contemporary Catskill Lodging,” our Classic Contemporaries were 7 of the original 11 rooms that were here when we first purchased The Roxbury Motel. They pay tribute to the midcentury moderne movement in architecture in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s as well as to the era when roadside motels were all the rage. They underwent gut renovations, kitchenette areas were added, and they have had numerous makeovers through the years. We have purposefully not given them specific theme names for the percentage of our clientele that does not want or care for a theme. That does not mean, however, that they are not just as fun!

3 of them have king beds, 3 have two extra-long full size pillowtop beds, and 1 is our ADA room with a queen size bed.

We serve an extensive continental breakfast (included in your room rate) from 8:00-11:00am daily.

Studio Themes

Starting at $186
Yabba Dabba Doo and Flower Power and Moon River and I Think I Love You and Sam, Endora and Uncle Arthur’s secret hideaway at 30,000 ft. If you’re younger than 30 you may not get it. But it doesn’t matter. The above inspired our Studio Themes and we think it will be fun for you.

We created our studio theme rooms with a host of details in mind. We wanted the focal point of the room to be the bathtub and tile work, so each room has a bathtub right smack dab in the center of the room with a different kind of tile work crawling all the way up to the 11’5” ceilings. So does that mean you take a bath in the middle of the room? Well, uhm, yes. But don’t worry, we had custom bathtub surrounds made of frosted sand-blasted glass for you modest couples out there and of course the toilets are in separate chambers. And the coolest feature of the room is that you have two exterior doors in the studio themes – one from the parking lot and another that opens out onto our back garden areas (great in warm weather) and spa (great in cold weather!).

All of our studio theme rooms have queen beds and interior adjoining doors in case you want the fam or friends closeby. And like all other rooms you get free streaming Netflix, free Wireless, DVD players with access to our 400+ title film collection, fridges, microwaves, coffee machines, A/C, fluffy towels, supersoft sheets, luxury bathroom amenities, and some other fun room amenity surprises. Oh…and did we mention breakfast? We serve an extensive continental breakfast (included in your room rate) from 8:00-11:00am daily.

Big King Themes

Starting at $276.50
It’s good to be da king. And a good king (or queen) listens to her/his subjects. So we gave you king size beds, ginormous 85-gallon two person soaking tubs with dual showerheads and dual-sink vanity areas, private throne rooms, and comfy sofabed areas for sitting or slumbering.

Our big king themes, all located in the North Wing, are over 100sf bigger than our already-large Classic Contemporaries in the South Buildings. Designed with romance in mind for couples and functionality and space in mind for families, these rooms feel more like a Manhattan studio apartment than a hotel room. Although, you won’t feel like you’re in Manhattan (or Kansas) when you twirl the disco ball in Tony’s Dancefloor or sleep under Farrah’s locks in Angel Hair or find your heart in The Wizard’s Emeralds or your favorite things in Maria’s Curtains or plop into fluffiness in Maryann’s Coconut Cream Pie.

We serve an extensive continental breakfast (included in your room rate) from 8:00-11:00am daily.

Suites

Starting at $307
More is more. Boldness is beautiful. Color is king. Drop-kick doilies into the shredder. And taupe be afraid. Be very very afraid. Designing our suites was a daily meltdown of, is this too much? But then we realized that vacation is about taking you away from the every day.

We say think INSIDE the box, just decorate the hell out of that box! And there’s absolutely nothing similar about our eight suites. Each offers some similar and some very different amenities. The Shagadellic is our only suite with a fully-equipped kitchen. Melt with You gives you the entire upstairs of the main house and therefore total privacy with no other units next to you. Genie’s Bottle and George’s Spacepad have out-of-this world bathing opportunities (filmed for television by the TLC Network). They also have interior adjoining doors so that a large group can rent out the entire floor. And how do we describe the lofted theme suites in our North Building without being too wordy? We’ll try. As far as The Final Frontier, The Noir Boudoir, and Amadeus’ Bride are concerned, more is more: Two bedrooms and two full baths; a large spiral staircase that takes you to the lofted bedroom and bathroom on the second floor; 85-gallon two-person soaking tubs with dual shower heads; sofabeds that turn the living areas into a third bedroom; great views of the village and mountainscape. Oh, and lest we forget, Miss Kitty’s Saloon with its red bordello opulence will bring out a little bit of sinner in all of us.

Most of our suites have a separate wet bar sink area and all rooms at The Roxbury have free streaming Netflix, free Wireless, DVD players with access to our 400+ title film collection, fridges, microwaves, coffee machines, A/C, fluffy towels, supersoft sheets, luxury bathroom amenities, and some other fun room amenity surprises. Oh…and did we mention breakfast? We serve an extensive continental breakfast (included in your room rate) from 8:00-11:00am daily.
