The whole village, not just a house or two, is listed on the National Historic Register and was designated one of the prestigious “Preserve America” communities by the White House. We can arrange historic and architectural walking tours for you complete with tour guide dressed in late 1800’s period costume. It’s a great afternoon for history or architecture enthusiasts!

John Burroughs was an American naturalist and nature essayist credited with being the father of the Conservation movement. And he was born right here in Roxbury, NY and used to hang out at Stratton Falls! If you’ve never heard of him, google him and check out his amazing body of work.
